In the lobby of the Mart in Chicago, a spectacle awaited—NeoCon’s trademark showstopper from Wolf-Gordon. Office_Excavate formed a colorful, faceted grotto, as a whopping 92 patterns of fabric covered the 18-foot-wide banquette and freestanding perches in a welcoming patchwork. Ideal for chatting or recharging, the site-specific installation was, as always, conceived by vice president of marketing and design Marybeth Shaw in collaboration with Karlssonwilker, Graham Kelman, and New Motor.
