To celebrate Archtober, wants to discover ways to make architecture more human-friendly. On October 24-28, the organization, a collaboration between , , Architects Sweden, the , and the , will host a series of conversations on Swedish projects and firms that are leading the way in democratic architecture. Design enthusiasts and top industry practitioners will gather for a week of activities that include panels hosted by designers from , , and , among others. Topics of discussion will range from art in public space to nature and wellbeing.
“One of the largest challenges we face when it comes to the built environment is affordability,” says Chris Sharples, principal at SHoP Architects, a panel participant. “Our role as architects and planners is to come up with new material systems and design/building processes that allow us to address the cost constraints, at the same time and just as important provide inspiring, well-crafted beautiful places for people to live.”
