IDS Toronto 2018 Preview: 6 Must-Sees

From January 18-21, the  will take over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with a star-studded roster of highlights. This year’s theme, Future Forward, champions the innovative products and design concepts that have propelled the industry forward for decades. Headlining the annual conference are hip-hop architect , textile designer , and, in celebration of the fair’s 20th anniversary, inaugural participants Karim Rashid and . For its 2018 Designer Collaboration Program,  teams up with New York design firm to rethink the kitchen island. The installation, called "Altered States," precedes a larger-scale debut during Milan Design Week in April.

Inspired by Toronto’s cultural diversity,  in partnership with  and  will present “The Future of Canadian Living,” consisting of several pod-like “treehouses” that display innovative uses of texture, height, and space.

Exploring the momentum of new technology, interactive forest-like installation "How Bright Is Our Future?" by  will ask visitors to react to the most promising and terrifying changes that inform our future, and record how they view that topic; either as one of hope or one of fear.
